December 20/20 Challenge!

It has been a year of 20/20 challenges!T hanks for taking this journey with me, I hope they have stretched you and challenged you in so many ways! If you have spending the 20 minutes of God-talk, God-time each day, then I know there has be3en a morph in your soul, and the second half of the 20/20 challenge has hopefully stretched you in the missional realm!

As we come to the end of the year, I would like to challenge you with the first 20/20 challenge, which was to perform 20 acts of random kindness in December...

Believe me, you'll find plenty of opportunity to stretch into the kingdom of grace during the December shopping season...and you know what,y you'll feel good as you break the mold and become other-worldly through kindness, grace, and a life filled with wonder!

20/20 Challenge October

  20/20 Challenge for October

The first half of the 20/20 Challenge remains the same; Spend 20 minutes of God-talk/God-time every day. This is so important. To begin seeing your spiritual, physical, and emotional life experience alignment with God, it takes a commitment to engage God's presence. So take 10 minutes at the start of your day to align your heart with God's... to let Him know you are available for whatever He impresses upon your heart during the day. Read the verse of the day on my blog, and ask God to begin showing you who He really is through the Scriptures you read. Then ask Him to impress upon you the who, what, where, when and why of the second prong of the 20/20 challenge.

This month as we pump-up our faith in the God's Gym series, lets turn our attention for the second half of the 20/20 challenge towards building our faith. Dedicate 20 minutes of your month to taking a faith-infused prayer walk around the church facility (or your place of worship if you don’t go to SVA).  As you walk, here are some things you can pray about:

Pray for growth, unity, love, stewardship, clear communication,
Pray for faith, and forgiveness to grow within your church body. 
Pray against division, personal agendas, misunderstandings, and hurt feelings.
Pray for your pastors, church staff, ministries, ministry leaders, volunteers,
Pray for the marriages, families and individuals represented within your church. 
Pray for giving to grow within your church - for individual's finances to more toward financial health and for individual's hearts to be open to giving back to God out of the provisions He give each of us.  Pray for God to reveal to you ways that you might join-in on what He is already doing at your church.  Thank God for what He is doing (and will do) in and through you and your church body.

20/20 Challenge for April

The first half of the 20/20 Challenge for May remains the same; Spend 20 minutes of God-talk/God-time every day. This is so important. The second half of the 20/20 challenge for May is spend 20 minutes with one person from your "Viral List." (Remember, that list you made last month of 20 people that God has in your life & on your heart who don’t know the life changing message of Jesus Christ.) Before you meet with them be praying that God would give you an opportunity to share who Jesus is and what He is doing in your life with that person. Pray for an ongoing opportunity to journey together and continue in spiritual dialog drawing them closer and closer to the God who radically loves them!

"To open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith..." Acts 26:18

The second half of the 20/20 challenge for April is to make a "Viral List" of 20 people to pray for, share the gospel with, and invite to meet Jesus Christ! We all have people who God has put on our heart; people we work with, play with, see at the grocery store, bank, baseball field etc. So often, we don’t know what to really do with that. Here is your chance to write down their names, deliberately bring them before God in prayer and ask HIM what HE wants you to do about them. Are they hurting? Do they need a friend, a meal, or just a Word of Truth spoken into their lives. This month’s challenge is to list the 20 people that God has in your life that don’t know the life changing message of Jesus Christ, and to pray for each of them.

20/20 for March!

Easter is coming and it is time to unveil the 20/20 challenge that will lead up to an explosive experience this Easter! We continue to have 20 minutes of God-talk, God -time for the first half of the 20/20 challenge, but this month the second 20 is:

INVITE 20 people to experience Easter@SVA! We will be giving you tools to give away, from hats, t-shirts to a cyber option. We have created a new site at www.virallife.org

This site is serving as the hub for inviting others and spreading the word like a virus! We will be launching a new series that kicks off Easter Sunday...The series is called "Viral life.org" and Easter Sunday the message is "Google...what are you looking for?"

You can check out the other messages in the series and view some "viral videos" while you're there.

We have added a couple more services on Easter Sunday to accommodate everyone engaging the 20/20 challenge by INVITING 20 PEOPLE to Easter@SVA!

Let's get make sure everyone we know has the opportunity to encounter God in a real, authentic way this Easter. This will only happen if we all take the challenge and spread the word like a virus!!

Are you ready for the next 20/20 challenge? For February the two prongs of the challenge are:

1. Spend 20 minutes of God-talk/God-time every day. This is so important. To begin seeing your spiritual, physical, and emotional life experience alignment with God, it takes a commitment to engage God's presence. So take 10 minutes at the start of your day to align your heart with God's...to let Him know you are available for whatever He impresses upon your heart during the day. 2. Show 20 random acts of kindness during the month! These can be anything:

*Roll your neighbors garbage cans back in for them.
*Buy the coffee for the next person in line at your favorite coffee hangout
*Give up up your place in line at the grocery store
*Run an errand for someone in need
*Take care of a friend's children so they can have a date night
*Give away a grocery store gift card
*Smile!
